Republic Bank in the Community Over the Years
New Level CDC
Republic Bank is proud to partner with New Level CDC in Nashville to help meet the affordable housing needs in this community! New Level CDC finds homeownership solutions for first responders, hospitality workers, and minimum wage earners. Our team has invested not only financial contributions but their time and efforts through providing presentations on homeownership and actively engaging with individuals and families through this program to find solutions for their housing needs.
Wreaths Across America
On December 13, associates with our Veterans BRG from all five of our markets joined together, participating in one event though in separate cities. Wreaths Across America is an annual event across the country that we both sponsor and volunteer at by laying wreaths on veterans’ graves as far back as the Revolutionary War, speaking their name aloud, and thanking them for their service.
Holiday Decorating at Maryhurst
Several associates spent time at Maryhurst in Louisville decorating for the holidays to help spread some holiday cheer for the girls on campus and help the Maryhurst team prepare for their Holiday Dinner. Maryhurst is a residential treatment program for children who have faced and are recovering from severe abuse and trauma.
Veteran’s Day Parade
We were honored to sponsor and participate in Louisville’s annual Veterans Day Parade for the 5th year. Several associates both in our Veterans BRG and associates who consider themselves allies looking to support them turned out to walk in the parade!
Kindness Warrior Walk
Several members of our Emerge BRG spent their Saturday morning volunteering at the Kindness Warrior Walk to support Down Syndrome of Louisville! The organization’s Executive Director noted, “It was especially meaningful to see a new generation of Republic Bank associates engaging with our mission in such a hands-on way. Your presence helped create a welcoming and joyful atmosphere for our families, and we’re so grateful for your partnership.”
Latin Music Awards
Republic Bank on behalf of our Conexion BRG was the exclusive bank sponsor for the Kentucky Latin Music Awards. It’s our honor every year to be able to give three scholarships to various music or arts university students and present one of the awards!
Hope Kits
Our NIA and Women’s Business Resource Groups teamed up to host “A HOPE-filled Event”! Members of the two groups came together and spent time writing HOPE Cards to be included in HOPE Kits. HOPE Cards are messages of encouragement and support that are included in care kits given to people affected by breast cancer. Attendees were also encouraged to wear pink in solidarity.
Big Brown Truck Pull
Several associates from Central Kentucky and their family members attended the annual Big Brown Truck Pull in Lexington to help raise funds for Special Olympics Kentucky. We are proud to have sponsored this great event for several years and love supporting such an important organization.
NKU Foundation – Adult & Transfer Center
The Republic Bank Foundation partnered with the NKU Foundation to provide financial support to make higher education accessible to more individuals. The $25,000 commitment will impact current and prospective students through the Adult & Transfer Center by assisting with tuition & other education related costs.
Juneteenth Celebration
In 2025, we celebrated our 5th annual Juneteenth Event! With the opportunity for community members to get some good food, bust a move, and receive potentially life-saving health screenings and education on-site, this event is one that we look forward to every year.
Landscaping at Maryhurst
Several Louisville-area associates spent the day at Maryhurst providing landscaping work to beautify their campus. Maryhurst is a residential treatment program for children who have faced and are recovering from severe abuse and trauma. Volunteering and providing support outside of their programming allows the organization to focus all of its efforts on supporting their clients, and we are glad to have the opportunity to be part of Maryhurst’s journey.
Pride Events across Markets
Associates from each of our markets joined together to celebrate in various Pride celebrations throughout the month of June. Republic Bank sponsored several Pride events, walked in several parades, and showed up to celebrate and uplift our LGBTQIA+ community members, clients, associates, and their allies!
HighPoint Charitable Services
Several associates from our Louisville market spent some time at HighPoint Charitable Services in La Grange, Kentucky providing support by prepping the building’s exterior to be leased by another group. The group spent their time cleaning, repairing, and sanding the building. HighPoint provides resources to help those caught in the cycles of hunger, poverty, and homelessness.
Many Miles for Malakai
Several Lexington associates participated in the inaugural 4x4x48 event to support the local nonprofit, Many Miles for Malakai! During this event, team members took turns walking or running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. Many Miles for Malakai will use these proceeds to support their mission helping victims of gun violence in the Lexington area.
H.E.R.O. Run
Republic Bank, on behalf of our Vets BRG, was a presenting sponsor for the H.E.R.O. Run in Louisville. This event honors military lost in battle or at home and proceeds benefit Volunteers of America Mid-States and UofL’s Salute to Service Scholarship Fund.
Children’s Advocacy Center
Republic Bank partnered with the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) of the Bluegrass for the “Pinwheels for Prevention” event. Since April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, our Lexington team celebrated CAC’s incredible work by helping place over 1,000 pinwheels, the national symbol of child abuse prevention, representing the 1,000+ children CAC serves annually through interviews, medical exams, advocacy, and therapy.
Lipscomb University College of Business
Tennessee Market President Chad Hart was invited to present to business students at Lipscomb University about Financial and Credit Analysis, covering how banks make credit decisions and answering any questions they had about other financial topics they wanted to know more about. Chad Hart said, “The students at Lipscomb’s College of Business continue to impress with their thought provoking questions, professionalism and overall engagement.”
Black Wealth Summit
Republic Bank partnered with the Central Kentucky National Association of Real Estate Brokers to sponsor and provide a table at their Black Wealth Summit. Each year, NAREB chapters across the country celebrate the anniversary of the Fair Housing Act by hosting Realtist Week. This week closes on an event with the goal of sharing resources and knowledge to help minority groups in this community achieve their financial goals.
Community Wealth Building Day
Some of our associates in Cincinnati participated in The Greater Cincinnati Realist Association’s Community Wealth Building Day, speaking to community members about building wealth through homeownership and how Republic Bank can support their financial goals!
United Way’s VITA Program
Our Tennessee Market associates provided a donation to support United Way of South Central Tennessee’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA). This IRS program provides free tax preparation for low-income and at-risk taxpayers with the help of community partners and volunteers.
Show Her the Money
Republic Bank was the presenting sponsor for an exclusive screening of Show Her the Money on International Women’s Day, providing opportunities to connect and learn from women in business and finance.
Minority Business Expo
Several Republic Bank Tennessee associates joined the 2025 Minority Business Expo in Franklin, TN. The event featured nearly 70 minority-owned businesses and served as not only an opportunity for everyone to meet new people and partner with the community but to celebrate Black History Month, too.
AAA Scholarship Foundation
Jim Kirkpatrick, Republic Bank’s Florida Market President, had the honor of presenting a $200,000 check on behalf of the bank in support of the AAA Scholarship. This scholarship provides vital assistance to families of children with disabilities in choosing the best school for them, allowing these parents to provide their children with the best education possible.
Wreaths Across America
A group of Republic Bank’s Tennessee associates participated in Wreaths Across America, spending a Saturday at the Nashville National Cemetery honoring and remembering veterans by laying wreaths at their graveside and reading their names aloud.
Habitat for Humanity – Greater Cincinnati
Some of Republic Bank’s associates in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky market gathered in College Hill to volunteer their time and effort with Habitat for Humanity Greater Cincinnati.
Black Men’s Wellness Day
Republic Bank’s NIA BRG showed up in support of Black Men’s Wellness Day. This 3rd annual event hosted by the African American Male Wellness Agency works to address health disparities in the black community and empower men to take care of their mental and physical health.
Habitat for Humanity – Rutherford County
Republic Bank’s Tennessee team has partnered with the Rutherford County Area Habitat for Humanity to provide affordable housing to those in the community. Republic Bank took the initiative to purchase newly-closed mortgage loans, originated by Habitat affiliates in their market. This allows those affiliates to go right back out and afford to build another house.
Habitat for Humanity – Williamson & Maury Counties
Republic Bank’s Nashville market donated funds to Habitat for Humanity Williamson-Maury to support their down payment assistance program and Hammers and High Heels fundraiser, with proceeds going toward a home build for single mother and Franklin-native and her four children.
431 Ministries
Republic Bank’s Nashville team invested volunteer hours and monetary support to help 431 Ministries and their incredible mission in the Nashville community to provide women who have been through hardship an opportunity to develop hope and a plan for an independent future.
Financial Fitness Fair
Republic Bank partnered with the Esperanza Latino Center to host a third Financial Fitness Fair for Hispanic and Latinx communities in the Cincinnati area. Several associates from the Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky Retail and Mortgage divisions volunteered their time to help demystify common problems and myths associated with banking.
4th Annual Juneteenth Celebration
Republic Bank was proud to partner with Kentucky African Americans Against Cancer – KAAAC, Kare Mobile, Louisville Free Public Library, Metro United Way, and the many food and community vendors who made the fourth annual Juneteenth event at the Republic Bank Foundation YMCA a success. It was a meaningful day – attendees received life-saving health screenings and education to promote prostate and oral health, a new Little Library was installed at the YMCA, and people had a space to celebrate Juneteenth early and share joy!
Pride Celebrations in Florida, Indiana, Tennessee, AND Kentucky
In June 2024, Republic Bank was able to be part of more Pride celebrations than ever! Kicking off the celebrations at the Gulf Port Pride Festival in FL, the Franklin Pride Festival in TN, and the Southern Indiana Pride Festival all in one weekend. Throughout Pride month, they followed it up by joining the Kentuckiana Pride Festival in Louisville, KY, then the St. Pete Pride Festival in St. Pete, FL, and closed with the Lexington Pride Festival in Lexington, KY! Republic Bank believes in supporting ALL parts of our community so they can THRIVE in the freedom to be themselves.
Margaret Allen Middle School Financial Literacy
As part of our ongoing commitment to community outreach, a few of our associates visited the 8th grade students at Margaret Allen Middle School in Nashville to teach them about financial literacy. Republic Bank associate Marie Holmes said, “Being able to step into the classroom and teach the eighth graders about something that is as fundamental as financial literacy was something magical. If we really believe that our children are the future, we must share the tools of life, especially the ones not taught in schools.”
Bluegrass Families First Award Luncheon
Republic Bank was honored to be the presenting sponsor for the Bluegrass Families First annual Jean Sabharwal Award Luncheon, celebrating Darlene Edwards, Executive Director of GreenHouse17. Bluegrass Families First serves Lexington-area families by providing resources for early childhood development, education, and health and human services. Their annual Jean Sabharwal Award recognizes family-focused work from outstanding community members and partners, like Darlene.
Future Business Leaders of America at Ballard High School
Several Republic Bank associates volunteered their time to teach financial fitness to the Future Business Leaders of America in Jill Napier’s class at Ballard High School. We’re so proud of our associates for giving back to the community and helping to educate the next generation on important financial skills.
Republic Bank’s Record-Breaking Metro United Way Giving Campaign
Republic Bank celebrated our record-breaking employee & corporate-giving program for Metro United Way by hosting an event in Downtown Louisville, highlighting the important work supported by Metro United Way.
