Diversity & Inclusion
A Message from Chairman and CEO Steve Trager:
Republic Bank is a community bank driven by purpose and personal touches. We strive to make life easier for our clients and associates through our actions including community engagement. We believe that it takes a well-rounded combination of people and ideas to foster creativity and ingenuity on the way to remaining a highly competitive company. This is only achievable by recognizing diversity and inclusion, and by reinforcing our ongoing efforts to reflect, anticipate and adapt to the core and changing demographics of the communities where we live and work.
We are determined to be a place where all members of the community including our associates, clients and suppliers feel comfortable and supported and where all associates have the opportunity to leverage their talents, achieve their full potential, and maximize their contributions to our clients and communities.
We believe our approach to diversity and inclusion is not only good business, it is the right thing to do for our clients, communities, associates and shareholders.
Diversity & Inclusion
At Republic Bank, we know the importance of creating a culture of inclusion. We do this by integrating diversity and inclusion into every facet of our business. At Republic Bank, creating this inclusive culture means:
The associates of Republic Bank are key to our success as an organization. Republic Bank is committed to attracting, retaining and promoting top quality talent regardless of sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, race, color, national origin, age, religion, physical ability and any other differences that make us unique. We identify and select the best candidates for all open positions based on qualifying factors for each job. Our associates are rewarded and recognized based on their individual results and performance. We recognize and respect all of the characteristics and differences that make each of our employees unique. We are dedicated to providing a workplace for our employees that is inclusive, supportive, and free of any form of discrimination or harassment.
We invest in our associates and communities we serve by:
- Attracting and retaining the most talented and effective workforce.
- Creating an atmosphere of respect that capitalizes on our differences.
- Accessibility and accommodations for associates, enhancing the ability of each associate to realize his or her potential without barriers.
- Volunteer and charitable giving programs that encourage associates to dedicate time and funds to the communities and charities they support.
We provide our diverse client base with the same quality client experience across the board. We are doing this every day through our multi-language services and materials, and ongoing improvements to the accessibility of our banking center locations and all other client contact points. Our expanded contact center, interactive teller machines, and internet banking channels give our clients access to Republic Bank when and how they need it.
Republic Bank is a community bank, and it’s important to give back to the communities where our clients and associates live and work. We embrace our responsibility as a community business, and the opportunity to create more resilient and sustainable communities through not just our dollars but also volunteer hours. In 2016, Republic Bank donated money to nearly 500 organizations in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee and Florida. In addition, our Republic Bank associates opened their hearts and shared their time with nearly 14,000 service hours dedicated to many different organizations. We believe that our communities are stronger when we support one another. At Republic Bank, we hope that by giving back we ultimately make someone’s life a little easier.
Republic Bank is committed to creating a level playing field for diverse suppliers by building and maintaining relationships with diverse-owned businesses. Our commitment to diversity and inclusion reaches beyond our organizational walls and extends into the communities where we conduct business. It is understood that the viability and expansion of the local business economy is directly linked to the success of small businesses and businesses owned by women, minorities, veterans, members of the LGBT community and people with disabilities.
