Enhanced Login Security
Recently the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) issued a directive that requires financial institutions to adopt a multi-layered approach to authenticating internet banking clients as well as implement stricter password requirements.
Beginning on the evening of August 13th, we are upgrading our Personal Internet Banking account access. The first time you log in after the upgrade, you’ll be guided through three quick steps:
The system will check the strength of your username and password. If your login credentials do not meet the upgraded security requirements, you will have to create a new username and/or password.
You will be asked to provide two phone numbers which will be used to deliver your one-time access code. It is recommended that one of these numbers be your mobile number. In addition you will be asked to confirm or update your email address.
You will be issued a one-time access code, which will be delivered in either a text message, automated voice message or email. You will have to input the verification code in order to proceed to Personal Internet Banking. To maximize security, we suggest that you choose to receive the one-time verification code via text through your mobile phone.
As part of this enhancement we’ve updated our supported browsers and recommended settings. We strongly encourage you to test your browser and review our recommended browser settings before August 13th to avoid any log in complications.
Additional EnhancementsIn addition to this security upgrade, your Internet Banking experience will be enhanced for better usability. A few things you may notice include:
- Improved navigation
- My Profile link (formerly User Options) which allows you to update your personal security settings and contact information.
- A more secure way of resetting your password via the phone number(s) you have set up for verification code delivery.
- Redesigned Bill Pay page - View e-bills and set auto payments in an options window, see when a bill is due at a glance, customize payee list and track how much you paid on past bills.
