Republic Bank's website and Internet Banking is Safe and Secure!
Over the past few days the media has reported on a security flaw known as the "Heartbleed Bug". The Heartbleed Bug is a vulnerability that could affect up to 2/3 of all web sites using OpenSSL encryption and that the vulnerability had gone undetected for up to two years. As part of the vulnerability, hackerscould have obtained user id, password, credit card numbers, social security numbers, and other sensitive information "keyed" into impacted websites.
Republic Bank is proud to announce that our website and Internet Banking were never vulnerable to the security flaw caused by the Heartbleed Bug. Your login credentials are safe and do not need to be changed unless you use the same password for multiple sites (Example: Your username and/or password for your Yahoo email account and Republic Bank Internet Banking access are the same).
