The following emails are the result of emails being sent to random internet users. All account information on our servers continues to be secure and has not been compromised. Please be cautious however, as the random nature of these emails and emails similar to these, may result in Republic Bank clients receiving the fraudlent messages.
Fraud Alert - Lottery Email Scam
A Lottery Email Scam has recently been reported. Recipients report receiving an email claiming that they have won a lottery and instructs the recipient to provide their contact information to a Republic Bank & Trust Co Representative by replying to the email to claim their prize.
This email is a fraudulent attempt to obtain personal information. If you receive an email similar to the one described, please do not access any links provided within the email and do not provide any personal information.
Fraud Alert – Money Transfer Email Scam
A Money Transfer Email Scam has recently been reported. Recipients report receiving an email from email@example.com claiming that an incoming money transfer has been received by their financial institution and that funds have been deposited into their account. The email then instructs the recipient to view the attached file to review the transaction details.
This email is fraudulent and is a potential phishing campaign. Attached to the message is a zip file containing a malicious executable file that looks like a PDF document that infects the user’s computer with malware. If you receive an email similar to the one described, please do not open any attachments provided within the email.
